Citrix PVS VMs on Windows Server 2012 Cluster Fail to PXE boot

It’s been a while since my last post, but I thought I would write up another quick fix to a problem that a client was having.

Environment: Converged networking (Windows Server based) on HP G7 and G8 blades, Windows Server 2012, VMM 2012 SP1

Situation: Citrix PVS VMs fail to PXE boot on some hosts

Workaround: Disable the VMQ property on the Windows Server Multiplexor adapter (teaming adapter), you can find this in the advanced properties.

While disabling VMQ is not ideal, it does get the job done. If I get the chance to look into this more I would be keen to find another solution that does not involve disabling VMQ.
